Editor's Note: I wrote this post in real-time, though I've waited a while to publish it. Why? Check out this recap. Now, cue the time machine and let's back up a few weeks...
Adventures in Twin Potty Training: Day 5-6
Mood: Frustrated!!!
Hopes: That Caden might finally keep Thomas dry. And that I don't hear another "NO, not now Mommy" out of Addison. Also that we might just have one half-day without any accidents.
Fears: That the kids won't get this thing down in time to return to preschool next week, which might officially send Mom to the loony bin.
Reality: Thomas did not stay dry. Addison refused me plenty of times. But I am still standing. Counting down the minutes until Dad gets home, but standing. Two year olds may be able to run me ragged, but I will not throw in the towel dagnabit. Hmmm, wondering now where Addison gets her tenacity...
Final Editor's Note: It is hard to give up control. To be completely capable of preventing disaster but step back and let it come instead. To trust what a two year old says, even when you doubt it. To stay sane when you've been cooped up with twin potty trainers for-approximately-ever and when all your errand running has to be done b/t 8:30 and 10:30pm. Hard, I tell you.
