Editor's Note: I wrote this post in real-time, though I've waited a while to publish it. Why? Check out this recap. Now, cue the time machine and let's back up a few weeks...
Adventures in Twin Potty Training: Day 7-10
Mood: On the edge of insanity.
Hopes: That they will get this thing down before the fullness of holiday stress hits.
Fears: That they won't. And I will turn into the Grinch.
Reality: We are good. Getting there. Addison has been dry for four days now. Caden is having one, sometimes two accidents each day... but is generally successful. But the transfer of power is now complete. With diapers, I had it. They could go anywhere, anytime, and could play without direct supervision freely. Without them, we are back to the way it was when they were infants. I go wherever they let me. And where they are, I am also. It takes between 30-45 minutes to get out the door each time we leave to run an errand. Fun times.
Editor's Note: I love it when my husband just "gets it". One night this week he looks over at me from the sink and says, "You know... I get how people just put them back in diapers and call it a day."
Day 11
Mood: Antsy
Hopes: That I sent enough clothes to get them through a morning of preschool.
Fears: That they'll totally be distracted by school and friends and forget everything we've worked on.
Reality: They BOTH stayed dry the whole morning. Of course Caden immediately had two accidents as soon as we got home, but still!
Editor's Note: I don't think it's weird at all that I wanted to put flags on my car on the way home from school... you know, like the president has. Clearly, traffic should halt for achievements such as this!!
