Adventures In Potty Training: Lost In Translation

Two steps forward, one step back.  Tonight Addison told us she needed to poop in the potty.  And she did poop in the potty.  However, these successes happened despite the fact that it was apparently opposite day in Addison's world.

Travis was with her in the playroom when he noticed that the window of opportunity was upon him.  He asked if she needed to poop in the potty.  She said, "A'n is pooping".  Travis needed clarification so he asked if she was pooping right now or was the poop already in her pants...  All she would say is, "Pooping."  So Trav assumed it was too late and called her over to the changing table.  All the while doing the usual, "Next time...  tell us when you feel the poop coming and we'll go to the potty together."  But she didn't come.  She headed the other way, to the gate and said, "Would you like to go to the potty Daddy?"  But Travis thought she was just playing, as she often does, enjoying the act of questioning like a cutie-cute grown up.  So he asked, "Did you already poop in your pants?"  She said yes.  So he got her to the changing table.  Only to find a clean diaper that was about to be dirty in 2.7 seconds.  He scooped her up and ran, making it just in time for her to do her first real dirty on the potty.

All to say, despite some critical information getting lost in translation...  success!!
