Boys & Girls Day

We don't do enough separate stuff with the kids, it's just hard to do and when we actually have all four of us home it's so tempting to just stay in, or get things crossed off our to-do lists.  But last weekend we did it and the kids had a blast.  Travis dropped Addison off at Emory's house for  a "girls only" playdate.  Then he and Caden continued on their own, doing some errands and stopping in at Bojangles for some man-to-man cinnamon twists before picking Addison up.  (And what did I do with my all-too-precious time alone?  I went to the grocery store.  Womp, womp, womp.)

We talked up the events beforehand by saying that it was a special "girls day" and "boys day", mostly because we weren't sure if Addison would head off by herself without a problem...  and if Caden would understand that he couldn't stay and play.  Apparently it worked, because Travis didn't even get a goodbye hug from our girl she was off and running so fast...  And he said that Caden was so chatty without Miss Verbal around.

I hope we'll be able to do more of this now that the kids are older and more independent...  I'll just add that to our to-do list right now ; )  Thanks Emory, for having Addison over!!  And thanks to Sarah for snapping these sweet pics as they played!!
