What Does Pitiful Look Like?
This girl was SICK on Saturday. Highest fever she's ever had. We topped out at 103.6, so we were within a few tenths of heading to an emergency appointment. Thankfully we were able to talk to an on-call nurse at the hospital who advised us that there was a virus going around that causes high fevers with not much else. That explains why just a little congestion and an occasional cough suddenly went so far south. Caden had it Thursday and Friday, but his temps were much lower and easily managed by meds. Addison? Well, that beautiful thing was just totally uncomfortable, since about 2:30 am on Saturday until around 5pm the same day. She hardly ate, had to be held to sleep, and definitely did not want to play. Meds did very little, so we just had to do what the nurse recommended to keep her semi-comfortable and then wait it out. Poor thing even laid down on the cold kitchen floor while I was cooking dinner. So I brought in the changing pad for her. Look. At. Those. Eyes. : ( Never in my parenting life have I been so glad to see the thermometer read 101.8 (tonight before bedtime).
