Toddler Table Tweakage

You remember the flat-out-amazing toddler-table-built-for-two right?  Well it is still every bit as amazing now as it was then.  Maybe even more so now that the kids are into painting and craft stuff a little more.  Enter, the problem.  Uncle Todd quite smartly designed it to be a bit of a throw away table. Not the whole thing, of course, just the table top.  We can make it bigger, shaped differently, taller, whatever we want really, just by removing the legs and hardware and reusing them with extenders or a different top.  He purposefully did not paint, stain or seal the top.  So we could draw on it.  Make mistakes.  SO WE COULD USE IT.  Without fear or worry.  Which was exactly perfect.  And worked like a charm until two little people who shall remain nameless started spilling water, paint and food on it regularly.  Those things needed to be wiped up.  Which meant water was seeping into the wood.  And that, as a certain someone might say, was "not a wise choice".  Enter the solution.  One crafty mom who decided tweaking this table was more important than cleaning her house.  Plus $14 worth of spray primer, paint and sealer.  And we have this beauty to show for it.

I mean, doesn't it just say, "Sha-zay-yam!!!"  It's protected (easier to clean and keep looking good until we need to size up/reshape).  It picks up the playroom colors and it matches the DIY curtain I hung to hide our kitchen bookcase/toddler supplies.  Win, win, WIN!  Oh, and it makes my heart sing.
