- Caden came to me with a bottle top and asked for the bottle that matched it. I knew which one he wanted and started thinking of all the places it could be... the toy box. The play kitchen. The bookshelf. Kitchen drawers... and then he said, "In da puwpul sand box." And he was RIGHT! It was in the box we use to play with purple sand. He had last played with it over a week ago. Smarty pants. Now if only I could teach him to remember where Addison leaves her bows...
- Did you know that two year olds can mute your computer volume under the system preferences menu, using only a mouse? Yeppers. They can. Took their mother about five minutes of trouble shooting to figure out what they'd done with a few moments alone and the mouse.
- Caden is officially into everything his Daddy does. Here's his latest attempt to get in on the action...
- Did you know that a changing pad cover doubles nicely as a "raincoat"? It is also useful when it's left on the changing pad, which gets pulled down to the floor regularly for use as "snow".
- Toddler antics. They're a part of every day. This week's top 5: climbing on ev-ery-thing that is off limits, removing hair bows and hiding them 6,000 times a day, reaching my votive wall-hanging (see first antic) and removing a handful of candles before being discovered, sticking carrots in our ears when we're supposed to be eating snack in the back seat of the car, and this... double disrobing so silently that even my mommy-sense didn't detect any mischief until I walked into the room. Ahhh!!
- This is a recent conversation between the kids in the bathtub, and it's word for word accurate because I was so stunned I ran out and grabbed something to write on and repeated the whole thing until it was down in print for me to record here.
A'son: Ohhhhhhh....
Caden: Want to send it to me A'son??
A'son: (As she sends the boat over...) It doesn't have water in it. (It does, it's broken and leaks.)
Caden: It has water in it, so it can drop... (holding the boat up to demonstrate the leakage)
Hello, thirteen words?!?? Communicating with his sister freely?!?? I remember when I was practically dancing that he simply smiled...
