Hanging Ten... Kinda

One day last week, there was an amazing tidal pool that developed.  It was deep enough for Travis to kneel in but shallow enough for the kids to walk in.  We discovered this when Travis walked in from surfing and Caden took off to meet him.  He didn't care that the water was deep, he was going. Not sure if it was for his dad or for the board, but the boy was determined!  So Travis did what any respectable dad would do...  he stopped right there, plopped Caden on the board and started floating him around.  At this point, I walk over from hanging with Addison and see the amazing photo op.  Then I realize that our camera was back at the house.  A long walk away.  Certainly long enough that Caden would be off that board by the time I returned.  So I ran.  The whole way there and back.  Only to find him walking the beach again.  Luckily, Addison soon took interest...  and I started shooting away.

Technically, she's hanging ten right?  I mean all toes are off the board...  Caden saw this, and got back in line.  Shortly he was taking his turn...

...  and loving every second of it.

But she very much loved her Daddy for doing this with her.

I fully expect that it won't be very long before the kids will be body surfing on their own boards.  Jumping to their feet on their own.  And hanging ten for real if their dad has anything to do with it.  Mommy better step up her game!  Can't have the entire family showing her up on vacation ; )
