Beach House Babies

Last year...  the beach experience was awesome.  But alot has changed in a year, making this trip even more amazing!  The kids really enjoyed the water a little bit.  They made a few castles and dug a few holes.  They chased gulls, climbed sand piles and pretty much enjoyed everything about the beach.  We took some treasure walks, got our pants sufficiently sandy from sitting at the water's edge and enjoyed a beach picnic/snack under the umbrella each day.  Fun stuff for sure.  So fun, that mom took a bazillion pictures that still need sorting...  so for now, take a look at some of the beach house action.

There were ice cream cones on the porch (please note Addison's dainty hold on her cone and her delicate licking, while Caden looks like a hungry man at the state fair with a giant turkey leg in hand).  Pop tried to steal a lick from Addison, who turned the tables on him by stealing an ice-cream kiss before he knew what was happening : ) : )

There were several golf cart rides around the island each day (THANK YOU to Gramzy and Pop for this gracious gift!)...  each one ending with Caden saying, "It's Caden's turn!" as we pulled back under our porch and gave him some (parked) steering time.  The kids liked every trip we took, especially the ones where we ran into construction equipment or giant puddles, but mom's favorites were the cooler drives, where we wrapped the kids up and snuggled them close.  The men took the cart out for its inaugural ride...

There was plenty of play pretend action with all the sectional pillows...

And their step stools, which they lined up to make a dock.  They would jump off the "dock" into the "water" (a few blue beach towels on the floor) and then roll into the "sand" a yellow towel.  I love watching their imaginations develop!  Also, there was a little baking with Gramzy on a rainy afternoon.  Lesson learned?  Rain-schmain...  Her cookies are delicious!

Oh and we can't forget all the veggies that Pop had to pretend to put into the cooler with the kids.  Put them in, shut the lid, open the lid, take them out, put them in...

All in all, the house time was great.  Things were fairly baby proofed to start and we fixed the major stuff without much problem.  The kids were generally well behaved (saving the worst stuff for me of course).  And they accepted (for the most part) the pre-beach ritual of sunscreen, suiting up and shuffling over.   Next up, some beach pics!
