The Week In Review

  • We had the S family over for dinner and the kids had a great time eating together (and watching themselves).  So glad for a playroom and table big enough for twins + twin friends!!

  • The beloved blocks have been evicted from the playroom, unless directly supervised by an adult. The kids were building furniture five blocks high, in the upside down playhouse, and looking basically like they'd built an indoor "Wipeout" obstacle course.  But oh, they did enjoy them while they lasted!

  • We took off for the park one morning, and as we pulled into the parking lot we saw a huge tour bus.  I figured it was just a bunch of campers heading to the tennis courts, but of course that was not it.  As the kids realized where we were and started shouting, "We're at the pawk!" and clapping their hands, about 35 elementary age kids poured onto the little playground, covering every square foot of it.  We didn't even get out of the car.  And Mommy had to explain that she needed to "make a different choice".  (That's a phrase I'm using alot with the kids these days.)  So off we headed to another park, which thankfully we had almost to ourselves.  The kids still love to swing, slide, and can now climb up a three feet tall, slanted climbing wall unassisted.
  • When we pray at meal time, the kids have totally different approaches.  Addison touches touches her fingertips to her forehead and rocks forward and back as she prays with us.  Caden touches his finger tips together but spreads the rest of his hands apart, squeezes his eyes tightly shut and often just listens.  (We think his hand position might be a copy of what mine look like when I try to say night time prayers with my arms around the two of them in my lap...  palms.  just.  don't.  reach!)
