No real change in our process to report, just some interesting developments in Addison. Last night Addison had an accident on the nursery carpet. The kids had just walked in from their bath and while Caden was getting changed into jammies, she plopped down with a book and got a few pages in before announcing, "Tinkelllinnnng..." She told the truth. But what she should have said was, "Floodingyourcarpetwithmoretinklethanmylittlebladdershouldhold...." Sigh. She'd had the chance to go before and after the bath she'd just taken but apparently the urge didn't hit until she got busy reading, and forgot to hold it I suppose.
The girl is beginning to show signs of better bladder control for sure. This morning, Travis caught her early and raced off to the potty first thing. And by asking her to go a couple of times throughout the morning, I managed to keep her in last night's diaper until right after lunch. Of course, that bladder control isn't always a good thing. Every time Caden sits on the potty, he tries hard to produce something. Anything. But Addison often sits there and announces, "All done!" before bouncing out of the bathroom. Only to wet her diaper a few minutes later. Now that she's realized she has a little control, she's decided to use it I guess...
Definitely, the potty usage around here is completely dependent on us asking the kids to go. Some of the time they at least go try, but not always. No one is asking to go because they feel the urge. But I have to wonder if the last few days are just flukes or foreshadowing of what is to come. Oh my goodness I can hardly believe we are here. It was just yesterday that we were talking about starting solid foods...
