Exploring Paint

In the last few days the kids have taken a new interest in mediums beyond crayons.  Including paint.  Ah yes, did I have visions of the double paint-trouble we'd get into.  Since the last few times I've set up the paint it was largely ignored, I just knew it was coming.  But much to my surprise, they really seemed excited this time around, to explore and create.  Especially Caden.  Who apparently has been paying attention to the "Blue's Clues" color video we sometimes watch in the car ; )  They have asked to paint again several times since then...  and each time as I cracked open the paint it felt like I was back in the classroom.  Something about that smell just does it.  (Throw in a whiff of moldy industrial carpet and masking tape and I'll start grading things, just because.)  Can't you just see their little minds and senses sizzling?!??
