You Had Me At Maccaroni

What does every twin mama need every now and again?  To remember that she is more than a mom.  This weekend I remembered what it was like to just be a sister.  Travis played Mr. Mom for a day while I headed north to visit Lindy.  And we lived it up big time.  What, might you ask, would constitute fun times for me these days?
  • 6 hours alone as I drove.  I listened to the radio.  Loud.  I talked on the phone.  I had complete thoughts.
  • McDonald's Peppermint Mocha.  And gas station cappucino.
  • Lunch at the most scrumptious French restaurant.  Where I discovered that Gruyere is my new best friend.  On everything.  Including mac 'n cheese.  My whole visit could have ended there and it would have been totally worth the drive.
  • Shopping.  Without a double-wide stroller and a diaper bag for a purse.
  • Fresh Krispy Kreme donuts.
  • I got to meet my niece-cat, Carmen, for the first time.
  • I didn't have to change a single diaper, wipe up a single spill or put away a single toy the whole time I was there.
  • I watched cable.  I enjoyed DVR.  And I controlled the remote.
  • And lots and lots of just being with my favorite sister in the whole wide world.  How wonderful it was, just to breathe her air.  Can't wait for our next sister visit!
