The kidlets are also making great strides in comprehension and expression. Just the other day, Addison was having us read a book to her with many animals in it. Of all the animals, the one she liked best was the peacock (she says "Acah"). She kept going back to that book, over and over for a day or two, so Uncle Todd decided to see how much she was able to do... All the books were stacked across the room on the hearth. He asked her to go get the peacock. And she did! She went through all the books until she found the right one, brought it to him and then turned through the pages until she found the picture and said, "Acah"... Genius child for sure!!
Another book we have shows a familiar word (moon, light, brush, bath, etc.) with a baby and familiar objects to illustrate the term. I thought "quiet" was kind of a hard term for them to grasp, but apparently not for Caden, our man of few words. The other day we were reading through the book and when we got to the "quiet" page he put his finger to his lips and said, "Shhhh"... Clearly, MENSA material!!
Unbelievable, how fast their little dendrites are growing. Now if only I could keep mine from dying off from lack of intellectual stimulation... Off to read a book now!
