The couch and I are getting to be really good friends...
(This shot is distorted, I promise the belly is bigger than it looks here!)
This week has brought plenty of baby movement, very little quality sleep, and a few nosebleeds, along with increased discomfort. All of which are to be expected. Apparently, with all the extra blood that I'm pumping around for us, the little capillaries in my nose can't take any extra pressure from blowing my nose without bursting. Who knew?
I am grateful when I can stay asleep for 2 hours at a whack. Otherwise it makes for a very slow start to the next day... Also I am starting to find that the recliner is not comfortable for very long these days. I much prefer laying on my side, however I just can't do it all the time without giving myself neck, back and hip aches. So my days are a rotation of bed, to couch to chair, to couch and to bed again.
The combined weight of our babies is almost 9 pounds (imagine 2 pineapples). They are rapidly losing the wrinkled, alien look and their tiny skeletons are hardening. By now they have the use of all 5 senses. Fingernails and toenails have grown in, along with eye lashes, eye brows and head hair. Their brain and nerves continue to develop, but are now directing their body functions. It won't be long before we meet them now!!!
