Saw the doctor again today and he started with, "Congratulations for making it another week!"... which was nice, since I feel like every single day is an accomplishment!
He measured my belly, which is at 42 cm. Most singleton moms don't go past 40, so he told us we were in "Bonus Territory!". Cervix is still thinning, we're at 80% effaced now. And dilating, we're at 2cm. He said many folks might stay there for a few weeks prior to delivery... followed by, "but I don't think you will". Our next ultrasound appt. is 3 weeks from today and he doesn't think we'll make that. Sooooooo.... we are excited and anxiously busy preparing for what may be an earlier than expected arrival.
While I was a little worried that I'd get additional instructions to be even more restricted, he said we had literally done every single thing possible to give our little ones the best chance and staying put. So all we can do is wait, and wonder at the miracle of it all.
