What About Last Week?
This week has been a hard one. Work has been busy, my back seems to frequently feel like I've strained some muscles, and there has been much to do getting unpacked from last weekend and prepped for this one. Saturday morning the painting festivities begin! Mom and Pop Z are coming up to help us paint the nursery and the guest bedroom. Then we will switch the guest bed over to the smaller of the two rooms. If time allows, we will head over to pick up the 2nd crib and perhaps even start assembling. Travis also wants to replace the wax ring at the base of our downstairs toilet. We'll just see how much we can do...
Also, my 3 hour sugar test is OVER! Although it was easier to be hungry this time around, my back hurt more. So it was a tad uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room chairs for over three and a half hours. Ug. I just hope we passed! Not the way I really wanted to spend my day off work, but oh well. At least I got to meet my handsome husband for lunch. That was a real treat!
How about that 26 week bump!?!? It doesn't look too gi-normous...
Until... you see the actual belly.
Whoa Nelly those babes are growing!
And upon closer inspection...
The slow retreat of my innie belly button has begun!
What's Ahead For Next Week?
This week, the babies should weigh in at almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and could be about 14 1/2 inches long with their legs extended. They are both sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing their eyes, and perhaps even sucking on their fingers. With more brain tissue developing, our babies' brains are very active now. While their lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — they were to be born now. Wahoo! And I can chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements I feel to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother the babes at all. Amazing!
