High Risk, High Reward

This week has brought many new developments. Sadly, the first was my diagnosis of gestational diabetes. Something like 10% of twin mommas get it, and I feel like I've been headed that way since week 16 when I failed the first glucose test by 1 point. I passed the next 3 hour test, with only one elevation but the last 3 hour test I had two elevations. Ah well, I've held it off as long as I can. There is a cure... delivery. But until then I will be following a diabetic diet. I'm thrilled of course, that right when I want comfort food the most I have to stay healthy. But in the end, a healthy me means two healthy babies... And part of this high risk business is the high reward we are so looking forward to. Two precious little ones!!!

Hi Jenn,
So sorry you're having to deal with Gestational Diabetes...boo!! Oh well, you're right, it's definitely worth it in the end. You'll have to go ahead and request some of your favorite comfort foods for after the babies are born so that we can be prepared to bring it to you! :o)
