It's all about small goals... and my first one was to just complete one week of bedrest. CHECK!
My back and neck have mostly stopped hurting and my body has pretty much adjusted to being down most of the day. I eat solid nutition 6 times a day, which is much better than I was able to do at school. I try to have at least one task to accomplish every day, so that my mind doesn't turn to mush. And I rest well. The tough part is that because I've been doing such a good job of resting... when I do stand up for any length of time (ex: to take a shower or make something to eat) it is quite a shock for my body! The doctors told me this would happen, but it's still a little distressing to see how much work it takes just to stay vertical... all the more reason to continue being a good patient!
