Week 24: Tummy Tracker

What Have The Babies Been Doing This Week?

Head to heels, they each now measure about 13 1/2 inches. Their weight — a pound and a half each — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but they are beginning to exchange the long, lean look for some baby fat. As they do, their wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and they'll start to look more and more like a newborn. And can you believe it, they are also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture. What a miraculous thing, this creating life is!

What Have The Parents Been Doing This Week?

We had another OB visit. All is perfectly well, as best anyone can tell. During the visit we got to see more ultrasound pics and wouldn't you know it, Travis' children were forming a giant "T" in my belly. Our boy was head down, in the center and our girl was transverse across the top. She still outweighs him by an ounce but probably not for long. Also, the ultrasound tech rechecked, and we are very definitely still having a boy and a girl. No one was bashful :) I'm measuring as if I were 31 weeks along with a single baby (which explains my fatigue and growing belly!) and the doc wasn't worried a bit about my swelling (calves, feet especially, wrists and hands).

Work has been busier than usual, but I have managed to stay with it. Just resting alot when I get home and not forcing any exercise unless I feel like it.

We are getting excited about our first shower, coming soon this weekend. And very much looking forward to seeing everyone to celebrate our little ones!! Next up, belly pics from this week... Stay tuned!
