Week 21: Tummy Tracker

This week was really something... Snow and plenty of it. Time off work, which was heavenly. And a few things checked off the to-do list. Always a good thing!

No stretch marks yet, but can definitely tell my body has to work harder to do totally normal things. I can get winded if I talk while walking up the ramps at school! My blood pressure is up from its usual low, but that's because I'm pumping twice the usual blood around. So, I adapt. I try to rest more and eat often. But sleep remains hit or miss after about 2:30am.

The babies are moving more, and kicking harder. Travis is having fun trying to catch them in action and trying to tell their kicks apart. I am loving that too! It's so fun to finally be able to share some of the physical effects with him!!!

Check out this belly action...

What will our babies be doing in the next week? At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound each, our babies are starting to look like miniature newborns. Their lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and they're even developing tiny tooth buds beneath their gums. Eyes have formed, but irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside the belly, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers their bodies and deep wrinkles on their skin, which they'll sport until we add some fat to fill them in.

What will we be doing in the next week? Madly trying to research and get things for our registries picked out... Finishing all the boxing of my classroom stuff and getting it into the attic... And beginning to declutter the house. Not much if you say it fast!
