I think this is going to be an after-dinner routine now. The kids have discovered the joy of playing hide and seek. For Caden, the joy comes in racing around after his sister... not so much in finding anyone, although tonight for the first time he found me a few times on his own. For Addison it's about searching on the run and being first to hunt me down.
This was one of their first attempts and as you can see they were not very good at it. Even when you wait out in the open they can miss you entirely. But oh, they did we have fun! Standing behind the curtain is still one of our favorite hiding spots, but other fun ones include:
- sitting next to the kids' coat hooks with one of their coats hung on my head, covering my face
- sitting criss-cross in the floor and holding their shoe basket in my lap (they couldn't find me for days)
- hiding in the bathroom with just my feet sticking out into the doorway (not even hot pink socks gave me away)
- folding up under the toddler table... I had to ask them to come find me three times! They kept getting distracted and finally started playing together in the other room, leaving their mother folded up under elf furniture!
I'm already plotting tonight's hiding places... too much fun, these two!
