Play Date Fun

Last week we had our friend Merideth over for some playtime fun.  There was playing, exploring, and lots of socializing (well, at least for Jill and I).  Highlight of our time together?  Decorating pumpkin cookies for snack of course!  Just look at the adorableness, will you??

It didn't take Caden too long to figure out that there was no sense wasting any fingertip sprinkles...

And Addison was pretty quick to figure out that she didn't have to eat the cookie to get the icing...

Bonus, Merideth came bearing things to share!  Our two were very impressed with her super-fun backpack--they admired themselves in the mirror after she sweetly let them try it on, and I'm pretty sure Caden ignored the pastel flowers and instead saw an orange and black backpack blower just like his Dad's.  You should have seen his smile, he even backed into a corner when he had to give it up.   You don't get between a man and his tools!

Then of course there was Merideth's perfect-for-little-hands tea set.  They all had fun with a last minute tea party, even Caden... who immediately wanted to know all about how the Lazy Susan thing worked.

We can't wait to play again soon, how fun it is to share a morning with friends!!  It's just that we might not decide to finish off our left-over cookies after lunch next time.  I mean, I have earned a few teaching stripes on the day after Halloween.   You know, the day when all the kids come in hopped up on sugar from the night before.  But what I experienced next rivaled any sugar-battles I've had in the classroom...  It took 1.5 hours, 4 trips up to the nursery, and a little back rubbing to get the troops down.  Latest.  Nap. Ever.
