- It has been decided. Oatmeal is cool. Oatmeal is cooler when you eat it with shades on.
- You know how you start out washing all the baby clothes in Dreft and then one day you realize that your regular old detergent is just fine (and necessary if you ever want to send the kids to college)? Well I thought the same would be true with after-bath lotion. I ran out of the good stuff recently, and decided to use up some of my extra lotion before I bought any more (save $ + declutter = win/win!) The first night I tried some shea butter stuff that's been hanging around the house for forever. Not only did the kids not like it, WE didn't like it. The next night I tried a more floral scent. The smell was better but the intensity was not. Caden actually said, "There's some-ting in my nose!" The third night we were back to the good stuff, after a run to Target. And everyone's noses thanked me.
- Caden and I had a play date together while Travis took Addison to Lowe's. And what did he choose to do given complete freedom and undivided attention? "Play paint, play mawkers, play sand, play sink, play sand and push vac-cum" In that order. Also, he kept saying, "Dis boy loves to paint..." over and over as he mixed colors, asked for more paint, and made caterpillars to his heart's content. It was so fun to watch him work. Check this pics of our latest play medium: colored sand!
- We got the kids new shades. You know, for all the paparazzi we encounter on a daily basis : )

- These things have been getting a workout with our regular pool visits... how cute are they?!?
- While putting away one of Addison's hair clips, she looked into her bow box and said, "Want to sort by color." Not kidding. This is what she came up with, completely unassisted... I think she's getting it.
- Addison's been saying she's "wu-weed" alot. As in, "A'son's wu-weed about da Y-simmee-A" (YCMA) or "A'son's wu-weed about chutch" (church). She'll say, "Mommy always come back to get you??" So I've started prepping her all the way there, saying things like, "Addison's a big girl... she can handle it." Or, "Caden will be with you and you will be with Caden... you're a good team!" And then just the other day, as she started worrying out loud about me leaving her in the YMCA nursery, and before I could pipe up, Caden chimes in with his tender little voice, "Caden will be with you..." Oh how sweet is the love of a brother for his sister.
