2 Year Well-Baby Check

Let's just start with some amazing news...  the next well-baby visit is in...  A YEAR.  Really?  Are we to that place already?  The place where they really just want to see us once every 365 days?!??  It wasn't that long ago we were going every few days.  And that we sat in the infant waiting area.  Adoring our gorgeous babies who sat there in their car seats, gazing at us and cooing as every adult in eye shot smiled and "awwww"ed.  Now we sit in the real waiting area, filling out paperwork just like every other parent, with one hand and one eye as the other hand and eye are trained on the busy toddlers who couldn't be kept away from the train table.  Yes, times they are a changin'!

Today's visit was great.  Aside from having to wait a while with two naked toddlers that really didn't want to have anything to do with the doctor poking and prodding them.  Thank goodness Travis was there to help hold, soothe and occupy.  And thank goodness for a huge window wall that faced the parking lot.  Don't know what we'd have done without having cars and pedestrians to watch!

The doc was pleased with both kids' progress and growth and he thought they were really talking well.  (I wanted to tell him that what he was hearing was nothing, but decided better of it.)  He also thought, as I do, that the kids were showing several signs of potty-training readiness.   Which makes me giddy and filled with dread all at the same time.  We'll see how long it is before we formally launch Operation Potty...
