Rainbow Bottles
I used six empty water bottles to make this little rainbow of fun. I filled each 3/4 full with tap water and added food coloring. Then I added the extras. Red has red glitter glue blobs. Orange contains orange pipe cleaners, which I shaped into little corkscrews. Yellow has oil and yellow foil poms. Green has silver glitter. Blue has blue shimmer dust in it. And purple has purple glass beads. I have to say that blue turned out the best, as the shimmer just rolls into these amazing swirls when you tip the bottle. But the kids seem to like them all. They have carried them around, investigated them, used them to build towers and played with them on the light table. All of which I've felt pretty safe about doing, since I hot glued the lids on and hot glued a piece of ribbon around the lid after that. Not a bad result for a bunch of recyclables and items I had on hand!
