Good Clean Fun

Not my ideas:  shaving cream as a medium, shaving cream in the tub, a few drops of food coloring and foam paint paddles.

My idea:  

Use a divided, clear plastic serving piece from the dollar store for a floating art palette that could be shared.

The kids' ideas:  

Try the painting thing for about two seconds, then zoom the plastic palette back and forth like a boat until it capsizes.  Much more fun than art!  Also, exploring the resulting shaving cream slick with their hands.  I gotta say, their ideas were way more fun... and in the end, educational.  They gave me the opportunity to talk about the terms "slimy", "squishy" and "slippery".  And they made for a very fresh smelling tub!
