Staying In Bounds

For a long time the kids have played happily in our driveway and yard, never venturing very far beyond that without us, or without being in the wagon or stroller.  But lately our little speedsters have found exploring our neighbor's yards, the mailbox, and street pretty much exhilarating.  For added fun, they love darting off in different directions, forcing me to look like a gecko on speed rounding up one and then pivoting and turning back for the other.  The next best thing is trying to get past the end-of-driveway-bound where I like to stand.  Caden usually makes the first attempt, and when I move to block him  Addison deftly takes a few quick steps forward before I can move to block her.  Rinse and repeat.  Causing me to look like I'm playing a tennis match.  By myself.  My neighbors must not watch tv, they've got my yard to watch for entertainment!

So I've been thinking of how to help the kids see the end of the driveway as out of bounds without making me the boundary marker.  I was leaning toward small plastic soccer cones to mark it off.  But this week I happened upon four smaller disc-like things at Walmart for $3.50 and thought they'd be just perfect.  Addison thought they made great cymbals, hats and of course...  bracelets.  And  Caden thought they were great too.  For running through.
