Memory lane. Such a fun place to go sometimes. Walk with me, and take a look at what Christmas looked like around here just one year ago...
Before we proceed any further, I ask you... is there anything sweeter in the whole world than rolls upon rolls of marshmallowy baby fat covered in silky soft baby skin?? I think not. In fact I think it is rather miraculous. Because nothing else could make you forget those endless nights and walking-the-edge-of-sanity days like baby snuggles with twinaliciousness like this!!
365 days later, the snuggles are just as good but there are plenty of other cha-cha-changes. Check out what Christmas looks like this year, at 18 months...
Yep, we're movin' and shakin' around here. Addison likes to try and dress herself. Emphasis on "try". She can frequently be found hobbling around the living room with both feet stuck into one stocking leg. Caden has discovered that he fits into the lowest kitchen drawer, though he has not yet devised a way to get out. The kids love yanking ornaments off any tree limbs they can reach, and thus the ornaments on the front hallway trees were removed immediately after the taking of the above photo. Our little electrician knows how to light the tree each morning (which I decorated to suit our toddler needs).
Some of our decorations had to stay packed away, but the kids are feeling plenty festive already with what did make it up this year. Some of that festiveness is why I had to turn the couch backwards against the hearth. I can't seem to keep the kids in contact with the ground anymore. So our living room/playroom is now 99% a play room. Besides the completely non-functional couch (well it is blocking the hearth I guess), the TV is blocked by a small dresser. And there are only two chairs left for sitting and one of them is so far back from the TV you almost need binoculars to see anything. Can't wait to get a the front room converted into a real playroom so
