Small Moments

This morning I successfully sang my daughter to sleep. I'm no great singer. But I love my daughter more than words, so I guess it's less about talent and more about the intent... We sat in our glider, snuggled up close as I sang through every song that came to mind. And as the crying slowed and stopped, and her eyelids drooped and finally closed, I landed on this beauty that I kept repeating. The funny thing is, as much as she felt the sweetness that is the security of your mother's arms, I felt something far sweeter. The power of the words that I was singing...  Oh Addison, if you could only know how much you are loved and treasured, sweet baby of mine.

Baby mine, don't you cry...  Baby mine, dry your eyes...
Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine.

And can you imagine that you will love her more and more everyday, as you already do. It is amazing. As someone once told me, "It's almost scary, isn't it?"
