The doctor was performing our first ultrasound, and we met Baby A. We heard your precious heartbeat. "Perfect", said the doctor. We watched him measure you and could hardly believe how tiny you were. Not even an inch long! "Perfect", he said again. And then, just when we didn't think anything else could be more wonderful, a new space opened up on the monitor.
Your dad slowly cocked his head to one side, and knew immediately what he was looking at. I on the the other hand could scarcely imagine such a thing... that is until the doctor said, "Hmmmm" and followed you with the ultrasound until you came fully into view. That's when he showed us Baby B and said, "So... has anyone confirmed your twin pregnancy for you yet?" and I finally turned to look at your dad. Who was still standing there with his head cocked to the side. Speechless.
We were overcome with joy, but found there were no words for the moment. It took several days for the news to set in. But we couldn't share with the world just yet, as we wanted to get through the first trimester first. And oh, the joys of the first trimester...
