1 Hour Glucose Test... Failed

The test itself was no big deal. Didn't have to modify my diet or fast. Just had to drink 5 oz. of a sticky sweet drink an hour before coming in for a blood draw. The cutoff for concern was a score of 140. On the way home for Christmas I got the call that my score had been 141. (Boo, Hiss!) Meaning I'd have to schedule a 3 hour glucose test upon my return. That turned out to be a much bigger deal.

I had to modify my diet for three days prior, fast for 10 hours prior to the test itself, have an initial blood draw, drink 10 oz. of the sticky sweet liquid and then wait 3 more hours (for 3 more blood draws on the hour) before finally being allowed to eat. I didn't know how I'd get through it. Normally I can fast like a champ, but this twin thing has me very hungry every 2-4 hours. Fortunately, I had a very sweet husband and an army of prayer uplifting me until the test was over. (And a value meal from Wendy's waiting for me as soon as I could get the car there!)

Now that the test is over, I am awaiting results. Whatever they are, I will be content. For I need to know how to keep these babies healthy!
