Last weekend, we spent two wonderful days in Hendersonville to celebrate my birthday. In addition to catching up and doing a little family gardening, we hiked to two different waterfalls at Dupont State Park.

This is Hooker Falls. There was a great swimming hole just past the falls. Nice and flat walk, all the way there. Then we decided to head the other way to visit Triple Falls, since it looked to be the same distance. Yikes! It was up, up, up. All the way. But we did it with Dad leading the way, and it was so worth it!

Once there it took Travis about 30 seconds to figure out how to get down to the rocks and climb the falls like others were doing...

We were happy campers after that expedition! Hungry too, so we took Travis to Asiana for the biggest buffet ever (he tried sushi with octopus!)... Those are the makings of a great weekend. Being away from work with family and food, and a dash of adventure thrown in. Happy birthday to me!
